The entertaining MyWinningPhoto site here on Xanga hosts weekly themed photo contests. Last week’s theme was “Action” and, unfortunately, I didn’t get my photo submitted by the deadline. Nonetheless, I thought I would share it with you.
Taken on the Thong Lo BTS Skytrain platform with a Panasonic Lumix LX3 – f/5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/1.3 seconds, a 24mm lens, and an ISO of 80. Hope you enjoyed – and don’t forget to go vote!
I wonder whether or not it’s a pleasant experience to ride that train. Good interpretation of the theme, of course.
Cool, I can see a few people waiting for the sky train. It’s nighttime too, right?
@nov_way – Clean, modern, air conditioned… pleasant enough. It does get very crowded at rush hour but more train carriages are on order so that should lessen later this year.@CurryPuffy – Yeah, it was shot sometime around 6:30 pm. Inbound platform so not many people heading that way at that time of the day.
Sounds good enough! Thanks!
It’s an awesome picture and what I like most is the reflection of the people waiting to get on the train :] oh and the fact that you can see the other side of the train
i really like this photo – upon first glance it seems like a train pulling out of the station, but if you look closer, there seems to be many layers – like, the people in the image…are they still waiting across the platform, or are they reflections on the passing train…very nice 🙂
love the timing and the reflection of people waiting
cool shot.
@Devilzgaysianboi – @Fatcat723 – @aPieceOfTheSky – @buddy71 – Glad you liked the picture. Yes, one thing that really caught my eye about it was the reflection of the passengers on the platform, too.
You have a steady hand.
Too bad you didn’t get it in in time! A very good photo!
wow. such speed.
@murisopsis – Yeah, but I feel like my photos are always of things that people who know me can identify. No anonymity.@beowulf222 – Exhale slowly… Ha ha ha…@rudyhou – Thank you.
I just bought a small Lumix camera before out trip to Hawaii. 16X zoom and 14 MB pictures – almost all the photos came out really well.
@RakkaRay – Glad the Lumix is working well for you. Panasonic seems to have really good optics, capable of shooting well in most any situation.
@christao408 – What impressed me the most was the image stabilization. I have a shot in my Hawaii pics of surfers on the Banzai Pipeline. They were probably 200 yards away from me and I was max telephoto – handheld – and the shot came out great. Mine is a Lumix DMC-ZS8 – and I got it at Best Buy at about half-price because a newer model just came out.
And some people think you can only take good pictures of food and related items!!This is an amazing capture of the platform with the train rushing out. I couldn’t stop staring at it.
@ZSA_MD – See? I do have range as well as depth! Ha ha!
