Quick plug for a Xanga site you may not know about. It is titled MyWinningPhoto and it holds a weekly photo contest. A theme is announced, Xangans go out and take photos related to the theme, then the photos are posted in one place and we can vote on them. Turns out (probably no surprise to you), there are some pretty talented photographers on Xanga.

@ThePrince – About once a month the organized republishes the rules. Here’s the link to them.@CurryPuffy – One of the rules is that you have to take the picture during the week of the contest, so I’m not allowed to rummage through previously published photos. Generally, I don’t have the time to go out and take a specific photo, but I do keep the theme in mind as I’m wandering about and if I see something appropriate, I’ll snap it.

@ThePrince – Sent a message to the organizer, who answered that he/she will now time stamp the rules each week after announcing the new contest.@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter – @venice – @npr32486 – Yeah, it is an interesting concept, something that helps strengthen a sense of community on Xanga. Certainly, not everyone will be interested in submitting photos or even just viewing and voting, but it is good to increase the awareness of “worth checking out” sites on Xanga.@Devilzgaysianboi – Honestly, I don’t think you need to be a great photographer to participate. Many of the photos are snapshots but are no less interesting.@Frankenchrist – The photo contest isn’t good? The photos themselves? The fact that I posted about it?
I have seen photos on this site before. By the time I learn about it, the week is already gone by. The theme for this week is good. may be I will submit next time. I’ve already voted on this one.
