Day three in Houston. Meetings all day long in a florescent lit, gray carpeted industrial park building. Jet lag has been manageable, thanks to Tylenol PM and an avoidance of caffeine in the afternoons and high doses of it in the morning. Have been to bed by 10:00 each night, woken up about 3:00 and forced myself to turn over and get a few more hours of sleep.
Having to use lots of eye drops to counteract the red, tired eyes. Am enjoying seeing my colleagues and meeting new ones, thankful that my company sees the value in flying me over here. Very taxing, though.
It’s a zombie!!! AHHHHH…. POW!!!It’ll probably take another day or so before you get over it. Good luck.
Missing a U.Me no like jet lag.
Such a sad eye. Hope you can enjoy the meetings (even in grey florescent conference rooms). Hope you don’t have as much of a problem when you return to Thailand.
You have unique looking eyelashes
I wonder how many more days of meetings? Need to relax, eat and tour around town after this!
Ouch… I’m sorry about your messed up sleep cycle… I know how much that can wreck havoc on life. I hope your time in the US goes swimmingly… and that your jet lag when you get back home is manageable!
Flying east makes jet nag worse. You do look tired. 🙂
sometimes i hate flying just because of the jet lag and the red eyes. i ALWAYS carry an eye drop whenever i travel.
It usually took me two days to get over the jet lag + meeting + smiling all the time! You do look tired.
jet lag is not fun… no matter how often you fly, you still get affected by it. at least it sounds like you’ve managed to wake up for your meetings on time!
Sorry. It will be over soon and you can go home.
Flip-flopping days and nights is really rough! I can’t imagine becoming used to that. It took me 2 weeks to adjust when I went to India in 2007. Unfortuantely, I was only there for 3 weeks. Then there was another 2 wk adjustment when I came home. Still, wouldn’t have missed it for the world! I’m sure your trip will also be worth it.
Oh dear. You do look a bit raw around the edges. Hope you recover soon.
@stebow – @everyday_yogi – @amygwen – @kunhuo42 – @Fatcat723 – @rudyhou – @stevew918 – @murisopsis – Thanks for the sympathy everyone! Just one more night in Houston and then on to Kansas City to deliver the hedgehog.@ElusiveWords – Don’t tell Jason… he’ll hunt me down!@Passionflwr86 – Sadly, jetlag is usually much worse for me when heading back to Asia.@Roadlesstaken – Really? How so?@CurryPuffy – One more night. No time to tour around time, sadly. Am on the north side of town near the airport and have no car! =(
@christao408 – It’s in like a sunshine pattern.
@Roadlesstaken – Oh, probably just stuck together with the grime of a long day.
know any Hungarians? … try to lay your hands on Beres drops or pills … most helpful for jetlag. I`ll see if I can scare up some to send along to you. I`ll be over Hungary way again in March I think.
Jet lag from the other side of the world is always hard to adjust. I used to take those cold medicated teas to force me to sleep, but they don’t seem to work anymore, or maybe you’re not supposed to take those when you’re not sick.Hang in there!
I often have trouble sleeping/staying awake (it alternates !) at home, goodness knows what I’d be like with jet lag added to the mix ! Hope it’s all worth it for you 🙂
You do look very tired. Hope you had a good rest and feel so refreshed by the time you read this.
Ugh, I would hate jobs where I would need to travel. Good luck on the rest of your biz trip. 🙂
@brooklyn2028 – Well, considering this is the first time in five years I’ve had to travel, it isn’t so bad.@icapillas – Thankfully, I am on the road to recovery after two nights in my own bed.@Chatamanda – The biggest challenge I face with jet lag is just the sense of being kind of “out of sorts” with my body, zombie-like.@AzureRecollections – I find that the Tylenol PM with the half-dose of sleeping medication are enough to help me re-establish a regular sleeping pattern. There’s still the sense of disconnection that takes me a while to sort out, though.@AppsScraps – Very nice of you to offer. Hopefully by March I’ll be over the jet lag! =D
