Sapphire Rain had this cartoon as part of her recent entry on a court case restricting a woman’s lesbian partner from spending the night. The sentiment of the comic really hits home.
Here’s to hoping that in another decade or two, we’ll look back on the issue of gay marriage and, just as we look back at the anti-miscengenation laws that were on the books up until the 1960s, wonder what in the world we were thinking.

Awesome!Happy New Year!
I really, really hope that you are right!
Here’s hoping… π
Hopefully, people will come to their senses sooner than a decade, certainly two decades. Glad your trip home went smoothly. It was good for all of us to return to our “normal” routines.
I agree with your mother Chris. I hope it will be sooner, than later. God willing.
That was a great post
Interesting post! I hadn’t thought of the issue that way but it makes a lot of sense. Let’s hope time will indeed be the cure – or at least a contributing factor – in this case.
Amen Hallelujah!
It will……
I sure hope so too.
Happy New Year to you and Tawn! I feel so ridiculous for missing you guys yet again. You were even at 15th & Valencia, barely 4 blocks from my office. arrgh, next time perhaps. I won’t miss any more of your entries either, I promise!
ryc: good feedback on the before/after pics. Thanks!
@chrispycrunch – You’re very welcome.
@ABloggingHorse – No worries, Daniel. Time was extremely tight on this trip and we didn’t have the opportunity to meet up with several Xangans. We’ll be back in August.
@RakkaRay – I find it is an interesting comparison to draw. While I’m respectful of differing opinions on this issue, I find it a bit frustrating that when people make these arguments (“will lead to legalized incest, bestiality, etc…”) and they are confronted with the fact that the same arguments were used about interracial marriage, they completely avoid addressing that concern. They squirm and change the subject, but can’t provide any good answer to explain why, forty years after the races were allowed to mix, those foreseen consequences haven’t happened.
@christao408 – true, but I think you need to have an overdeveloped “forgetting” mechanism to remain a bigot in the first place!
