In the past few days, I’ve had several pictures from my Xanga photo album disappear, replaced with an unhappy looking computer cartoon saying “image not found”. These are my own photos, so it isn’t as though there’s a copyright infringement issue.
Any ideas why this is happening?

maybe xanga deleted them? :o/
How annoying — I did a little sleuthing and it seems to only be happening to your pictures. It also seems to happen be corrupted after a successful upload, since I recall seeing some pictures that have now since been replaced with the unhappy face. This would point to a corruption issue on Xanga’s end.
After reading this, I quickly check my own uploaded Xanga pictures. Glad mine are ok. hope there is not a virus somewhere in the system.
mine are doin fine right now….maybe u can ask the xanga team to sort it out for you?
You must’ve done something to offend the gremlins.
@stevew918 – @agmhkg – @moptoplop – @Sc12EeN17aM3 – @dynamiqvision – Okay, this is interesting. I uploaded those photos again and pasted the new ones into the posts in place of the corrupted ones. After verifying that the photos showed in the posts I went to the photo manager to delete the corrupted photos. Lo and behold – they were back to normal, no problems. Strange…
It’s possible that one of the servers was down?
@yang1815 – Possible, although a really odd coincidence that after several hours (a day +) the server problem resolved itself at the same time that I uploaded new copies of the pictures.
@christao408 – I think I’ve had that happen once before as well and I assumed it was a server reset/maintenance/glitch haha… If Xanga were to remove inappropriate/copyrighted pictures, they “should” give you a notice right??? 🙂
I’d think it was on Xanga’s end. There have been a few times where I’ve had to re-upload my pictures multiple times, even after it says it was successful. When I looked into the photo manager, the just uploaded pictures wouldn’t be there. So I had to do upload it again and again. Rather annoying.
Yeah, maybe the server was down or something… that’s the only logical reason.
@swcheng15 – @Dezinerdreams – Well, the problem seems to be solved at least.
I suggest u ask TheXangaTeam (all one word), http://www.xanga.com/TheXangaTeam, either thru a comment or an email. If anyone can tell u they surely can. They might even have a place on the site for such q /a’s; good luck ~Jon~
Maybe this was what the ninjas had planned all along!
Well, I had a similar incident with my stored music files, but only once with the photos.
at least things are back to normal!
